About the Series

If there is a population that understands the stigma of mental illness, it’s those with borderline personality disorder. BPD is mistakenly considered one of the most difficult diagnoses to manage, so finding proper treatment is difficult. Additionally, recorded statistics likely underrepresent how many people are actually living with this disorder because many sufferers are misdiagnosed with something else, or they normalize their behavior and never reach a diagnosis at all. These issues stem from a lack of education on the disorder. There are BPD treatments that truly work, and with the right education, there is hope for recovery.

Many professionals treat borderline personality disorder like a second-class mental health issue; Dr. Ramani Durvasula is not one of those professionals. Dr. Ramani is a pioneering advocate for sufferers and supporters of BPD. In this series, she shares her invaluable expertise on the topic, from how to spot the symptoms and avoid a misdiagnosis, all the way to finding the right specialist & successful relationship management.

People with borderline personality disorder need just as much help as those suffering from depression, anxiety, and other more widely-recognized mental health disorders. This series provides the insight sufferers and supporters alike need, and shows them how to navigate the mental health system in order to get the right, most effective help possible.

“I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2016, but thanks to Medcircle and your resources, I realized how many traits of BPD I identified with that I didn't share with my practitioner, not because I wanted to keep it a secret - I just didn't KNOW and I normalized my behavior for myself until I realized it affected every aspect of my life and it just seemed different than the diagnosis I was being given. Thanks, MedCircle - one of the most important platforms on the internet today!”
